Khachapuri

Birmingham-based improvisers delve into the Georgian Polyphonic canon.

‘Khachapuri – a Georgian dish of baked bread with cheese inside, a household staple often served at a Supra (party or feast).

Vato Klemera’s Khachapuri is a celebration of Georgian folk and film music, colliding songs from his childhood with raucous improvisation, original compositions, and jazz-as-boundary-pushing. Expect classics of the Georgian folk canon to be pulled into new shapes; energetic grooves reeling into hypnotic heights; traditional Polyphonic harmonies nudged into experimental nooks and crannies; storytelling through toasts as an age-old ritual unfolds before your very eyes.

You are cordially invited to the Supra, come raise your glasses to long life, health, and happiness.’
